José Alejandro Parra, a.k.a. Japp Beats, is a Venezuelan-born music producer, live act, and instructor based in Bogotá, Colombia. Renowned for his electrifying and unique live shows, he infuses his music with a fusion of analog warmth and modern electronic style. His distinctive blend of breakbeat, Detroit, and techno sets him apart as a pioneer in the electronic music scene, earning him recognition as one of the most innovative artists to emerge from the region. His music has been released on 12″ vinyl and digitally by labels such as Planet Rhythm / 90’s Groovz, Raw Quarter, Sonora Destroy Recs, 83, and his own label, Japp Recordings, among others. With each release, he showcases his versatility as a producer, pushing the boundaries of genres and styles while remaining true to his signature sound. He is currently the Co-founder and Academic Director of Mad Skills Academy in Bogotá.
